Celtics Down Mavs, Take 2-0 Series Lead
Boston's Depth Proves Too Much for Dallas
Luka-Kyrie Duo Struggles, Celtics Ground Mavs Bigs
The Boston Celtics took a commanding 2-0 lead in their Western Conference Finals series against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night, defeating the Mavs 119-110. Boston's depth proved too much for Dallas, as the Celtics had six players score in double figures, led by Jayson Tatum's 27 points. The Mavericks' star duo of Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving struggled to find their rhythm, combining for just 39 points on 13-of-40 shooting.
The Celtics also did a good job of containing Dallas's big men. Christian Wood and Dwight Powell combined for just 20 points on 7-of-19 shooting, as Robert Williams III and Al Horford provided strong interior defense for Boston.
Game 3 of the series will be played on Wednesday night in Dallas.
